Recently I've been praying about my children. I want to make sure that I am giving them a firm foundation in the Lord. I want to make sure that I equip them with God's word. I want to make sure that I am showing them Jesus!! Today I planned to go to our local christian bookstore after church. I wanted to look for a family devotional. (I'll get back to that) Today we visited a church for the first time. The kids loved it, when I picked them up from class both the teachers commented on how well my children knew The Word. The 4th grader's teacher really wanted my secret, I don't have one. She couldn't believe how well my daughter knew the topic. Ok, God knows just what we need. I needed the confirmation that I am on the right track. Of course there is room for improvement. I have to make sure that our time in The Word is not lost in distractions of the day. I must resolve to continue to discipline and encourage with the Word. I must show them that God is the foundation of our lives and that without him I am nothing. I want my children to see me living out my salvation in everything I do. I will miss the mark, I will need mercy and grace, I will be at his feet crying out. They will see Him pick me up, Him extend mercy and grace and Him wiping the tears.
I have included links to resources that I use or plan to use with my children ages 5,9 and 11.
